Our Story...

The Queen's Garden was first opened in June of 2005 by Michael McMann in Norwell, MA.  Seven months quickly passed and Peter Murphy purchased 50% of Michael’s shares of the business and incorporated. After a few months had passed, business was booming and the opportunity came to move our business 5 miles up the road to Weymouth.

We tripled in size and moved into our new buildings, which were home to 2 different furniture stores for some 30 years.  Although we miss our Norwell roots, Weymouth has proved to be more spacious and a more convenient place for our customers to visit.

Michael and Peter co-ran a large furniture chain in New England for several years, gaining experience and knowledge in all facets of the furniture business.  As time went by, the guys imagined what it would be like to leave the corporate side of this business and get back running a store and making it their own.  The dream was first to start a consignment store, going to auctions, and seeking out quality antiques.

The vision has since evolved; we have become a supplier to interior designers and homeowners for the South Shore’s most eclectic selection of furnishings and accents. We have also added interior design services after numerous customer requests. Although we still do consignments, we have become more selective, looking for more unique pieces. There are no future plans for additional locations at this time as we have experienced in the land of retail “A bigger company is not always a better company!”
